On March 17, 2026, RAFAMET signed a contract with Novatech Srl. for the delivery of a UGE-type underfloor wheel lathe, which will be installed at the Dacia Depot tram facility in Iași.
Dacia Depot is one of the most advanced public transport infrastructure projects in Eastern Europe. The investment includes the construction of a modern depot for trams, electric buses, and trolleybuses, along with the development of supporting infrastructure.
As part of the project, RAFAMET, in cooperation with Novatech Srl., will supply a specialized UGE-type underfloor wheel lathe designed for servicing and maintaining tram wheelsets. By implementing advanced maintenance technologies, Dacia Depot will become a key component of Iași’s sustainable transport system—supporting emission reduction while enhancing the quality of public services. This marks another step for RAFAMET in delivering projects that support the development of modern and environmentally friendly urban transport across Europe.
